Something to consider as you begin shopping for your child’s school necessities. The USA Today is reporting that many backpacks on the market just don’t measure up. They reference a recent Consumer Reports finding on backpack quality.
Students often lug around a combination of school necessities to meet their demanding education workload. Poorly constructed backpacks often fail prematurely and result in additional spending to replace.
The article reported that content weight of student backpacks was pretty staggering. Students in grades K-4 carried an average of a little over 5 pounds while sixth-graders and above jumped to over 18 pounds.
As you get ready for the school year, keep these findings in mind. Expensive backpacks are not always the best. Quality counts. Take a good look at the construction of the backpack before you make a purchase.
